Phase 1

Phase 1 of HCG diet is commonly referred to as loading phase. It takes the first two days of the plan. During these days you are allowed to eat anything and everything. People grab this opportunity by eating what they think they will miss during the whole regime. Whether this works I do not know. I wonder whether a cake lover or a chocolate addict will not miss a bite of it during the regime simply because they had it before they started the diet plan. It seems that this phase comes with all the advantages. It is the easiest and you have all the liberty with you. The bad thing is that it is the shortest so you do not enjoy the freedom for long.

The idea of this phase is to take foods with high fats and calories. The body and the HCG hormone work in contradictory. The body will try to deposit new cells of fat lipids. On the contrary, the HCG hormone will try to loosen and mobilize them. Once the HCG diet is started, the mobilized fat will result to an adverse shed of weight. You also take these high fat and caloric foods so as to store enough for the second phase of the regime.

Due to the fact that people are at liberty to eat anything they like, they go extend of trying anything and everything they stumble on their way. It is so unfortunate for those that struggle with appetite because they have to pull up their socks to reach the notch. They will have to eat all that for the purpose of the plan, not for their appetite.

For those that do not struggle with appetite, you still need to be a little bit cautious: go for high fat foods which are nutritious at the same time. So now you are confused on what to eat which will satisfy these two needs? All I can give is an example that can guide you in deciding on what to eat. Try the following foods, they are have a high fat content and are nutritious.

  • Slices of bread smeared with butter and jam.
  • Mashed potatoes.
  • Omelets
  • Guacamole
  • Cream
  • Nuts
  • Cheese
  • Olives
  • Gravy
  • Coconut oil
  • Butter
  • Avocados
  • Hollandaise sauce
  • Rich dressings
  • Whole wheat beagles.

So aren’t you not worried about any digestive discomfort in this phase? There could be digestive problems due to the fact that by eating very much and various foods you are overworking your stomach and confusing it. You need fiber and some heavily dressed side-salads to accompany your junk food. For example when you are having cheese, you can grab wheat crackers during the day to smoothen your digestion.

After the loading phase, you will get to a strict diet. You will reduce your calories intake to a range of 500-700. Salt is forbidden too. That is the essence of having all you want to the brim. So that it may burn off gradually in the second phase. You also need to have good storage so that it will not be difficult for you in the last week of the plan.
